PETALING JAYA (June 12): Three eateries here which were closed last week by the Majlis Perbandaran Petaling Jaya (MBPJ) health department were reopened, reported The Star.
“Both the banana leaf restaurants - Raju’s Restaurant and Sri Paandi - was allowed to continue operations after two days,” said MBPJ councillor Sean Oon.
“Both the eateries cleaned up speedily and addressed their faults so our health team were happy with it after a second inspection,” he added.
However, Restoran Gasing was still closed as it was under renovation.
Oon had led the raid last week, where officers found rat droppings and cockroaches hidden in the corners of cupboards, floors, and even inside a refrigerator in one of the outlets.
The outlet also did not have grease traps, allowing the oil and other muck to flow into the drains behind the row of eateries.
