No documents destroyed in FT Land and Mines office explosion

KUALA LUMPUR (June 29): Documents and land grants in the Federal Territories Director of Land and Mines Office are safe here after an explosion occurred here yesterday

Director Sharez Izuan Md Zaidi assured all that the documents in the room were not destroyed and there were no casualties, Bernama reported today.

"For now let the fire department carry out their investigations to determine the cause of the blast," Bernama reported Kepong Member of Parliament Lim Lip Eng telling the media after a visit of the department today.

Lim also urged people not to speculate about the explosion and to leave the matter the relevant authorities to probe.

In the 6pm incident yesterday, a loud blast occurred when one of the 63 aerosol fire extinguishing systems exploded.

The blast the door and ceiling of the room were destroyed but there were no injuries.

 Also present during the visit was Bukit Bintang MP Fong Kui Lun.
