PETALING JAYA (Sept 7): Residents living in the Sunway Mentari area trying to get a spot of breakfast got an early morning shock yesterday when a Mercedes luxury car crashed into the glass front of a McDonald’s.

According to a report by the New Straits Times (NST), the accident occurred when the 40-year-old male driver drove forward instead of reversing when he was trying to vacate a parking lot. He was also getting some breakfast at the fast food restaurant.

“We conducted a breathalyser test on the driver… but the result was negative for alcohol.

“The management of the restaurant made a police report on the incident, and a traffic summons was issued to the driver under Rule 10 LN 166/59 for careless driving resulting in an accident,” Selangor Traffic Enforcement and Investigation Department chief Superintendent Azman Shariat said in a statement, reported the NST.

No one was hurt in the accident which took place at about 6am. The restaurant’s front door, a section of its wall and a window panel were damaged.
