KUALA LUMPUR (Sept 26): Traffic at KM42 of Jalan Simpang Pulai-Cameron Highlands near Ipoh, Perak came to a halt when heavy rains turned a slope into a river of mud, reported the Malay Mail today.

Cameron Highlands Fire and Rescue Department chief Mohd Hilmi Khasfi Mat Zali told the Malay Mail via WhatsApp messaging that the incident occurred at about 2.45pm today following heavy rains that started at around noon.

“No casualties were reported,” he confirmed.

Mohd Hilmi said that one lane of the read is still closed to traffic to enable clean-up activities.

He warned motorists using the affected part of the road to stay alert as the mud was still flowing.
