KUALA LUMPUR (Oct 17): The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has, for the second time, postponed the display of a list of declared assets by Cabinet members and MPs on its portal.

According to a source cited by Free Malaysia Today, not everyone has declared their assets yet.

“So we are giving them time until the end of the month.

“Hopefully by Nov 1, it can be announced,” the anonymous source was quoted as saying by the news portal.

It was previously reported that the anti-graft agency had postponed the display of the list from Oct 1 to 15.
Chief commissioner Mohd Shukri Abdull said the delay was to enable all MPs and Cabinet members to submit their asset declarations, due to the fact that not all of them had completed three months of service.

Prior to being published on the website, the list will be given to Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad and the MACC.

At present, assemblymen and other state-level leaders are not required to declare their assets.
