KUALA LUMPUR (OCT 23): The reopening of investigations by the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) into graft allegations revolving around 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB) will start next Monday (Oct 29), according to its chairman Datuk Seri Dr Ronald Kiandee.

Kiandee told reporters at the parliament today that the investigations will be reopened with summoning the first witness, former Auditor-General Tan Sri Ambrin Buang.

"Next week we will be starting our proceedings on the 1MDB matter to re-investigate the case. We have already set the terms of reference and from there the first witness for the 1MBD case will be Tan Sri Ambrin Buang, that is the former auditor general," he said.

Kiandee added that the committee has a list of some 20 witnesses to testify in the case.

This morning, the PAC started its probe on the RM19.4 billion missing GST refunds by calling up former Treasury secretary-general Tan Sri Mohd Irwan Serigar Abdullah to testify in that case.— theedgemarkets.com
