PETALING JAYA (Nov 7): Motorists will now experience less traffic congestion on the SILK Highway near Columbia Asia Hospital after RM1 million worth of upgrading works by the Kajang Municipal Council (MPKj).
MPKj councillor So Lian Kiong told The Star that works were done on the 500m stretch of road from the junction in Jalan C180.
So explained that the highway has been widened by one metre and “vehicles coming from Columbia Asia Hospital have more space and time to move into the main road”, reported the daily.
But So also reminded motorists to exercise caution even though congestion may now be reduced: “I urge drivers to be responsible on the road and abide by the rules. Please use the U-turn further down the road instead of cutting into the right lane towards SILK Highway from the junction as it is dangerous to yourself and others. SILK must also do their part in providing better road signage”
The report also said that new lamp posts and refurbished drainage systems have also included as part of the road improvement effort.
