JOHOR BAHRU (Nov 12): Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng (pictured) has reassured that despite the change of government in Putrajaya, many development projects in Johor such as the Johor Bahru-Singapore Rapid Transit System (RTS) Link, would be carried out, reported The Star today.

“RTS, which is under Khazanah Nasional Bhd, will be carried out but in a different form. This will be announced by the relevant minister in Johor soon,” Lim said while at the opening of the state DAP convention here yesterday. Lim is also DAP secretary-general.

According to reports, Putrajaya and Singapore inked an agreement back in January to build the 4.2km RTS Link to carry up to 10,000 passengers an hour (72,000 a day). The coaches will be able to hit 70kph.
