KUALA LUMPUR (Nov 12): The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) will hold a meeting tomorrow (Nov 13) to discuss the date for proceedings to start, pertaining to the reinvestigation of 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB).

PAC deputy chairman Wong Kah Woh said the committee will start its reinvestigation on the Auditor-General’s report on 1MDB tomorrow and set the date to start its proceedings with the first witness; former auditor-general Tan Sri Ambrin Buang.

“The meeting tomorrow will bring attention to the PAC’s proceedings regarding 1MDB, where we will begin with our investigation on the auditor-general’s report which was classified under OSA (Official Secrets Act) before this. We will also discuss and set a date to start the proceedings,” he told reporters at Parliament today.

Separately, Wong pointed out that the meeting tomorrow will also start investigations on other cases unrelated to 1MDB that were brought up in the auditor-general’s report last August.

The PAC proceedings on 1MDB, which was scheduled to have started on Oct 29, have been previously postponed without disclosing any particular reason. PAC chairman Datuk Seri Dr Ronald Kiandee later revealed in a press statement on Oct 30, that the delay was due to the advice from Attorney-General Tommy Thomas.
