KUALA LUMPUR (Dec 12): Former 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB) chief executive officer Arul Kanda Kandasamy (pictured) claimed trial at the Sessions Court here today over a charge related to the alteration of 1MDB's final audit report.

Arul Kanda was charged with abetting former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak, who was alleged to have ordered 1MDB's final audit report to be altered before it was presented to the Public Accounts Committee.

Arul Kanda was alleged to have committed the offence at the Prime Minister's Office in Putrajaya between Feb 22 and 26, 2016.

Today, Sessions Court Judge Rozina Ayob set bail at RM500,000. — theedgemarkets.com
