SHAH ALAM (Feb 1): The Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) has issued a warning letter last week to contractors who have failed to keep to the project timelines in the Kota Kemuning road-widening project, The Star reported today.

And they risk having their contracts terminated if they do not buck up.

MBSA engineering director Cheremi Tarman told the English daily that the council was “disappointed with the contractors”.

They have been given two weeks to meet MBSA’s deadline.

The council cracked down on the contractors following numerous complaints from the public about the worsened traffic on the road owing to the delayed works.

It was reported on Monday that a badly patched pothole on the road caused a bad traffic crawl.

“It took me half an hour instead of 10 minutes from Kemuning Utama to my office opposite the Hero Market in Kota Kemuning,” said Facebook user Toh Leong Hoe.

The widening of the road at the Kota Kemuning roundabout is part of a traffic dispersal project to ease jams in the expanding township.

The area’s residents have also been waiting for a flyover along Persiaran Anggerik Mokara.
