KUALA LUMPUR (Feb 6): They say smoking is bad for your health but this incident has taken it to a new level.

There have been reports saying that a man from Texas, US, was killed after an e-cigarette exploded in his mouth last month.

According to a report by TIME.com, William Brown from Fort Worth suffered a stroke when the explosion “tore open a carotid artery”.

The e-cigarette exploded while Brown was in his car. NBC News reported that the “explosion was so strong that it melted the ashtray in Brown’s car”.

Brown was taken to the hospital but succumbed to his horrific injuries two days later.

NBC News added that “Brown is the second person in the US known to have died from an exploding vaporizing pen”.

A man from Florida died last May in a house fire caused by an exploding e-cigarette.
