KUALA LUMPUR (Feb 11): A fire had occurred at one of ATA IMS Bhd’s rented factories in Taman Gembira, Tampoi, Johor Bahru last Friday (Feb 8).

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia today, the group said the fire at the premise, occupied by ATA Industrial (M) Sdn Bhd, had been brought under control by the Fire and Rescue Department.

“The fire affected only a small part of a storage room in the secondary process area. The cause of the fire is still under investigation by the Fire and Rescue Department. ATA IMS shall restore back the operations at the affected area as soon as possible.

A police report has been filed. ATA IMS and adjusters are currently assessing the value of the damages sustained by the fire. All assets and inventory are adequately insured,” the group said.

The group also said it does not anticipate any major impact to its operations as the fire only happened in one small section of the factory and it has similar secondary processes in other operating factories.

“An additional announcement will be made once the exact value of the actual losses has been determined,” it added. — theedgemarkets.com
