KUALA LUMPUR (March 27): This must be the stuff of nightmares – you lose control of your vehicle and it flies off a multi-storey car park in a death plunge.

This happened to Rungthip Thongchanreed, 40, of Bangkok. She was, however, lucky to have survived the incident.

The Nation reported on Monday that “a car had fallen from the nine-floor car park building of the Phraram 3 Residence condominium on Rama III road”.

When rescuers and police were alerted and quickly arrived at the scene, Rungthip was found unconscious with her car flipped-over and airbags deployed, reported the Thailand-based daily.

It was also reported that her vehicle smashed a 0.5m high wall, collapsing it and damaging four motorcycles.

The police mentioned that “tyre marks indicated that the brakes had been applied in the parking lot where her car hit the wall”.

Rungthip was most probably trying to reverse park but accidentally hit the wall and the car fell off.
