IPOH (May 28): Sunway Property’s Sunway Onsen Suites in Sunway City Ipoh has recorded a 60% take-up rate for its first tower comprising 252 units of serviced suites following a sales preview on May 20, said the developer in a press release today.
 
The serviced suites comes in studio, two-bedroom and three-bedroom variations ranging from 592 sq ft to 1,184 sq ft. The units are priced from RM392,600. There are also six luxurious Onsen Villas with sizes starting from 2,712 sq ft. 
 
With natural hot springs integrated within the development, Sunway Onsen Suites’ three tower blocks have a gross development value (GDV) exceeding RM400 million.
 
Other facilities include an infinity swimming pool, multipurpose hall, gymnasium, sauna rooms and podium garden. The development also has a dedicated entrance for residents and a grand lobby with a green natural streetscape.
 
Applying its unique Build-Own-Operate business model, levels seven to 15 of Sunway Onsen Suites will be managed by Sunway Lost World Hotel to cater to investors who prefer a hassle-free investment.
 
“Sunway Onsen Suites offers the best of urban conveniences which are all found in the integrated Sunway City Ipoh township, as well as the best of nature. For investors who want to capture the opportunities from Ipoh’s transformation into a world-class tourism hot spot, Sunway Onsen Suites is an ideal investment,” said Sunway City Ipoh executive director Wong Wan Wooi at the sales preview.
 
The development is located within a RM2 billion GDV integrated development spanning 31 acres, which will include the proposed Lost World Mall, Medical Centre, assisted living homes with hot springs facilities and additional education components.
 
The first tower of Sunway Onsen Suites is estimated to be completed three years after the launch.
 
Meanwhile, Sunway Property has completed the development of an additional 20 villas in The Banjaran Hotsprings Retreat and a new night-time attraction called the Luminous Forest in the Lost World of Tambun.
 
“We will continue to support the State’s (Perak) tourism ambitions in the coming years through the development of tourism products and through active partnership with the State’s tourism promotion authorities,” said Wong.
 
Wong also said that Sunway Property will invest another RM4 billion in Sunway City Ipoh over the next 15-20 years. “We have completed about 70% of the 1,350-acre development and have invested about RM700 million here to date.”
