IOI Group founder Lee Shin Cheng passes away

KUALA LUMPUR (June 1): IOI Group founder and executive chairman Lee Shin Cheng (pictured) died at 8.30pm today, reported The Malaysian Insight news portal.
Lee was due to retire as chairman next Monday, the day of his 80th birthday.
He leaves behind wife Hoong May Kuan, two sons and four daughters.

His youngest son, the group CEO Lee Yeow Seng, recently married Energy, Science, Technology, Environment and Climate Change Minister Yeo Bee Yin.
Lee founded the IOI Group more than a quarter of a century ago 25 years ago. The group today is made up of plantation and property businesses.
