PETALING JAYA (June 12): PKR vice-president and Housing and Local Government Minister Zuraida Kamaruddin described the sex videos that have gone viral as “character assassination”.

Zuraida also stated undivided support for the minister implicated in the videos and “vouched for his credibility, integrity and leadership”, reported The Star.

"I am basing my confidence on the questionable background of the accuser and (who) is known to have good relations with the opposition.

"Any political conspiracy (geared) towards character assassination such as this has to be stopped immediately, and I hope the authorities will carry out investigations immediately and bring the accuser to justice," said Zuraida in a statement today.

"At a moment when the people and government are struggling to restore the nation's economy and to uplift the standard of living of the rakyat, such dirty politics is very annoying and stunts the efforts to rebuild a New Malaysia," she added.

Zuraida also told the Malay Mail that the videos were being released now “as the ruling Pakatan Harapan government nears the two-year mark when Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad is meant to hand over power to PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim”.

“I believe they’re all fake and it’s a conspiracy to kill [the person’s] political career like in the case of DSAI,” she told the news portal.

Video clips and several photos of two men shown in a lewd way including one that resembles a cabinet minister have been spread via WhatsApp.
