Hilman: Haziq told me he was a victim in 'dirty political game'

 

KUALA LUMPUR (June 14): Political secretary to Economic Affairs Azmin Ali (pictured), Hilman Idham today revealed that Haziq Abdullah Abdul Aziz is actually a victim “in a dirty political game to bring down Azmin”, reported Malaysiakini today.  

Haziq in a Facebook posting yesterday claimed that Hilman “had tried to force him into denying that Azmin was the other man in a gay sex video” during a meeting at a restaurant in the Marriot Putrajaya Hotel on Tuesday afternoon.

But Hilman today claimed that was not what happened.

"During the meeting, Haziq told me that he was a victim in a dirty political game to bring down Azmin. He claimed the video was fake, and denied he was the person in the video," Hilman said in a statement that was reported by the news portal today.

"Haziq also asked for my views about meeting his family (members) to get their feedback. I agreed and asked him to be patient.

“I also advised him that in facing such slander, family is an important element in protecting his emotions and dignity," Hilman added.

Haziq is the the senior private secretary to Deputy Primary Industries and Commodities Minister Datuk Seri Shamsul Iskandar Mohd Akin.
