KUALA LUMPUR (July 5): The retail price of RON97 will increase by four sen to RM2.53 per litre from July 6 to July 12, said the Ministry of Finance.

Based on the automatic pricing mechanism, the price of RON95 should be increased to RM2.23 per litre while diesel should be increased to RM2.32 per litre, said the ministry in a statement today.

However, the government will fork out RM99.53 million in subsidies to maintain the prices per litre of RON95 and diesel at RM2.08 per and RM2.18 respectively.
