KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 19): Berjaya Land Bhd (through its subsidiary company Berjaya Golf Resort Bhd) is partnering Maybank Islamic Bhd (Maybank) to offer its HouzKEY home financing solution for the developer's latest development The Tropika, Bukit Jalil.

The 6.5-acre freehold The Tropika is a unique nature-inspired mixed development comprising residential and commercial components that combine community living with city conveniences.

It offers a total of 868 serviced apartment units spread across four towers and is priced from RM575,800 with built-up sizes ranging from 732 sq ft to 1,318 sq ft.

The development is accessible via major highways such as the Damansara-Puchong Expressway, Maju Expressway, Shah Alam Expressway and New Pantai Expressway. Meanwhile, there are also several Light Railway Transit stations within a 3km radius including the Awan Besar, Sri Petaling and Bukit Jalil stations.

Under the HouzKEY scheme made available under Berjaya Land's Own A Home Campaign, The Tropika homebuyers enjoy easy entry as they are only required to pay a three months security deposit upfront. This means that first-time homebuyers and upgraders can own a home at The Tropika without worrying about the upfront cost.

Under HouzKEY, homebuyers can opt to stay first and choose to purchase the property within five years.

“With minimal initial cost and greater flexibility, this solution would enable a lot of upgraders and first-time buyers to own a home,” said Berjaya Land CEO Syed Ali Shahul Hameed in a press statement today.

“The Tropika is located at a strategic location and would be able to yield positive returns and substantial appreciation gain which translates into wealth accumulation for homebuyers," he added.

Berjaya Land’s senior general manager (properties marketing) Tan Tee Ming said with young homebuyers facing challenges in owning a home due to difficulties in obtaining high loan margins, HouzKEY,could be a solution as one can stay in a unit for RM1,500 per month for a property valued at RM617,000 for the first two years, and later decide whether to purchase the home.

Meanwhile, managing director of Maybank’s Real Estate Ventures Sally Lye said: “We are pleased to [welcome] Berjaya Land as a participating HouzKEY partner with its project The Tropika.

The response and feedback that we have received for our product has been positive and we hope to continue paving the way for Malaysian homebuyers in their homeownership journey.

As part of our mission in humanising financial services, it is important for us to be able to assist more and more Malaysians in securing their dream home.”
