PETALING JAYA (Aug 5): Ampang Jaya Municipal Council (MPAJ) is proposing to convert Jalan Bunga Mawar 4 into a one-way street to ease the traffic problem along Jalan Bunga Mawar.

According to a report by The Star, residents and business owners around the area have been “urged to provide feedback” on the proposal.

“We think the proposal can work but we would like to listen to residents’ feedback during the town hall meeting and gather their opinion on the traffic changes,” Teratai assemblyman Bryan Lai told the daily.

The planned town hall meeting will be organised at the Taman Putra Community Hall and take place on Sept 8 (2pm).

“Taman Muda residents have complained about the traffic near the morning market and asked for a solution to the long-standing problem,” Lai added.

He also revealed that “a three-month trial period for the one-way traffic system would start in November and would be monitored for further changes” if “if everything went smoothly”.
