KUALA LUMPUR (Sept 6): All retail prices of fuel (RON97, RON95 and diesel) for the period Sept 7 to 13 will remain the same as the previous week.

The Finance Ministry announced today that under the Automatic Pricing Mechanism or APM, the retail price for RON97 remains at RM2.50 per litre, RON95 stays at RM2.08 per litre and diesel at RM2.18 per litre.

"The estimated subsidy to be borne by the government from Sept 7 to 13 is RM52.61 million," the ministry said in its statement.

Based on the calculation using to APM formula, the retail price of RON95 petrol and diesel products for the period should be RM2.20 and RM2.26 per litre, respectively, it said.

However, the retail prices of both products were maintained for the period in line with Putrajaya's decision to stabilise the retail prices of petroleum products and safeguard the economic well-being of the people, the statement added.
