KUALA LUMPUR (Jan 3): Hong Kong actor Eric Tsang Chi-wai, who is the brand ambassador of property developer Mah Sing Group Bhd, has gotten himself a home at M Vertica in Cheras here.

Mah Sing revealed this today, noting that Tsang had recently signed a sales and purchase agreement for the said property.

"I've visited Malaysia numerous times and this country always makes me feel like right at home due to the warmth of Malaysians, and I really enjoy the variety of food here. I am very much convinced and confident in this sustainable property development brand name in Malaysia," said Tsang in a statement.

"On the back of the group's strong brand presence and good track record, I am blessed to have built a special relationship with Mah Sing. I am pleased to be a proud owner of M Vertica, one of Mah Sing's many quality offerings," he added.

Tsang is best known for starring in Hong Kong movies like Infernal Affairs and hosting the variety show Super Trio series on the Hong Kong television network TVB over 18 years.

Tsang made his first visit to Mah Sing headquarters and a few developments in September last year.

"He was impressed with Malaysia's infrastructure and accessibility, especially Mah Sing's development in Cheras — M Vertica, due to its strategic location, the extensiveness of the development facilities and nearby amenities," said Mah Sing.

Mah Sing founder and group managing director Tan Sri Leong Hoy Kum noted that during Tsang's few recent visits to Mah Sing's developments such as Lakeville Residence in Taman Wahyu, Icon Residence in Mont'Kiara, M City in Jalan Ampang and M Vertica sales gallery, its quality product offerings caught his attention.

"(This) is a testament that Mah Sing's products are in line with the needs and wants of the foreign buyers similar to how strong we are locally," he said.

M Vertica, a mixed development spanning 4.5 acres, recorded 85% take-up rate from the three towers launched earlier. The group had recently launched Tower D.

Mah Sing shares ended the morning session up one sen or 1.44% at 70 sen, bringing a market capitalisation of RM1.71 billion.
