KUALA LUMPUR (Feb 20): The COVID-19 death toll across Mainland China rose to 2,118 as of Wednesday (Feb 19) after 114 new fatalities were recorded, said the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Malaysia, citing China's National Health Commission updates.

The embassy said in a statement on Facebook today the 114 new deaths comprised 108 cases in Hubei, and one each in Hebei, Shanghai, Fujian, Shandong, Yunnan and Shaanxi.

"As of 24:00 on Feb 19, there were 56,303 confirmed cases (among which 11,864 [were] severe cases), 16,155 people had been discharged from hospital after recovery, 2,118 cases of death and 4,922 suspected cases," it said.
