PETALING JAYA (Feb 25): A section of a luxury condominium project under construction in Mont’Kiara, Kuala Lumpur gave way yesterday afternoon. No one was hurt in the incident.

Pictures of the portion that collapsed were shared on social media. 

The project under construction is a joint venture between MKH Bhd and Fairview Group.

In a statement posted on its Facebook page yesterday, MKH said the incident involved a “small section of the supporting scaffolding which gave way during construction.

“All workers are safe and the incident has been reported to the relevant authorities.

“The contractor has also taken immediate action to safeguard the area and is conducting detailed checks on all structures and scaffolding with professional consultants,” it added.

Located at Jalan Kiara 4 in Mont’Kiara, the project consists of 640 units of serviced apartment which are expected to be completed in 2022, according to the project brochure on MKH’s website.

In its statement, the developer also added that the management remains committed to conform to the approved building standards and to achieve high quality in all its projects.

On Feb 14, a condominium project under construction in Taman Desa, Kuala Lumpur partially collapsed, injuring two workers. It has been issued a stop-work order pending investigations.
