Central Global secures construction job in Penang worth RM42m

KUALA LUMPUR (March 2): Central Global Bhd said today its 51%-owned subsidiary has secured a contract from Simbol Era Sdn Bhd worth RM42.24 million to build a 24-floor residential apartment in Penang.

The unit, Proventus Bina Sdn Bhd, accepted the letter of award for the job today. The contract also involves a podium and eight floors of parking space. While the date of commencement for the job has yet to be decided, it is to be completed within 24 months.

Central Global shares jumped 8 sen or 21.05% to close at 46 sen today, giving it a market capitalisation of RM41.4 million, after 17,800 shares were done.
