Malaysia reports 12 new COVID-19 cases, bringing total to 129

KUALA LUMPUR (March 10): The Ministry of Health (MoH) has confirmed 12 new cases of COVID-19 infections, bringing the total confirmed cases to 129, from 117 yesterday.

In the meantime, patient 87 has fully recovered and been discharged from the hospital, bringing the total number of cured cases to 25.

Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin has visited the National Crisis Preparedness and Response Centre (CPRC) at the MoH to learn about the latest development on the COVID-19 situation in Malaysia.

In a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office, the government stated it will continue to enhance its existing capacity in various ministries and agencies in preparation for the possibility of more severe COVID-19 cases.

These include improving the aspects of human resources, laboratory facilities, health clinics and hospitals to treat COVID-19 cases.

The government is also planning to make the Sungai Buloh Hospital a dedicated hospital for treating COVID-19 cases.
