KUALA LUMPUR (March 23): Chief Secretary to the Government Datuk Seri Mohd Zuki Ali today announced the appointment of four ministry secretary-generals at the same time, effective immediately, Astro Awani reported today.

​The report quoting a media statement today said two of them, Datuk Seri Dr Zaini Ujang, was appointed secretary-general for the Ministry of Environment, while Datuk Seri Dr Mazlan Yusoff was secretary-general for the Ministry of Higher Education.

According to Mohd Zuki, the appointment of the two senior officials was in line with the two new ministries being established following the change of government.

He said Zaini had been in the public sector as an administrative and diplomatic officer since 2011, and had extensive experience in education, planning, research and the environment especially water technology.
Mazlan, he said, has been in the public service for 32 years, and has extensive experience in the management and modernization of public services.

Additionally, Astro Awani reported that Mohd Zuki said Datuk Zainal Abidin Abu Hassan was appointed secretary-general for the Ministry of Housing and Local Government, and Datuk Seri Mohammad Mentek was appointed secretary-general for the Ministry of Entrepreneur and Cooperative Development.

He said Zainal Abidin had been in the public service for 32 years and had extensive experience in various fields including finance, research and enforcement.

Mohammad, said Mohd Zuki, has 28 years of public service experience, and has extensive experience in human resources management, research and government policy.
