Ceiling price for three-ply surgical masks now at RM1.50 per piece

KUALA LUMPUR (March 30): The government has set a new ceiling price for three-ply surgical masks: RM1.50 per piece. This is down from RM2 previously.

Defence Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said this was decided at the National Security Council's daily meeting today, reported Malaysiakini.

"Not enough is being produced domestically and a lot of it is being imported.

"We will review the price periodically and might reduce the ceiling price if the cost comes down," said the minister.
