KUALA LUMPUR (April 1): All three restaurants in Hong Kong owned by British celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay (pictured) ceased operations today owing to the economic downturn caused the COVID-19 pandemic, reported Sin Chew Daily.  

The three restaurants are Bread Street Kitchen & Bar located in The Peak, London House in Tsim Sha Tsui East and Maze Grill in Harbour City Ocean Terminal.

Ramsay ventured into Hong Kong in 2015, setting up his brand of restaurants in popular areas such as Central, The Peak, Tsim Sha Tsui. The three restaurants were operated and owned by Dining Concepts Group.

According to Ramsay’s official website, March 31 was the last days of operations for the said three restaurants. The restaurants will be shut down permanently and exit the Hong Kong market.

Besides the Hong Kong business, Ramsay in March 21 announced the temporary closure of his 16 restaurants located in London. He also laid off more than 500 staff.
