Drive-thru, e-hailing and online Ramadan bazaars in KL, Putrajaya and Labuan

KUALA LUMPUR (Apr 8): Those in the federal territories could have their food cravings satisfied this Ramadan as the Ministry of Federal Territories has announced on its twitter page today that Ramadan bazaars in Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya and Labuan will proceed albeit via a few unconventional means namely via delivery, drive-thru and pick-up.

The ministry has outlined the following ways the bazaars will be held this year, which is expected to begin on April 23, amid the Covid-19 outbreak:

1. e-Hailing Ramadan

- KL City Hall (DBKL), Putrajaya Corporation (PPj) and Labuan Corporation (PL) will register traders with e-hailing companies

- Consumers can make an order via the respective e-hailing applications

- Food will be delivered to the doorstep with adherence to social distancing standard operating procedures (SOP) as prescribed by the Health Ministry

- Delivery method and costs will be coordinated by DBKL, PPj and PL with traders' associations

2. Drive-thru Ramadan

- Suggested locations: Boulevard Presint 2, Putrajaya; Stadium Bola Sepak Cheras and Stadium Nasional Bukit Jalil, KL

- Traders will be placed according to type of cuisine

- All food sold must be pre-packed

- Canopies are to be placed in a single file with a 20m gap between each canopy

- Vehicles will have to move slowly

- DBKL, PPj and PL and Rela authorities will be on duty

- Only one vehicle is allowed at a stall at any one time

Order, Pack and Pick-up Ramadan

- Shoppers would have to make an advanced order online from a menu of choice

- Shoppers are to follow Health Ministry's social distancing SOP when collecting order at a location fixed by DBKL, PPj and PL
