
KUALA LUMPUR (April 14): The Ministry of Communications and Multimedia’s Quick Response Team in a media statement today issued a list of replies by the relevant agencies to fake news viraled on the social media:
1. The Perak Health Department (JKNP) denies that an Indonesian man who died at a house in Kampung Selamat, Sitiawan had succumbed to Covid-19 and clarified that the cause of death was meningitis.
2. The Johor Bahru City Council (MBJB) denies appointing several individuals to solicit cash donations for the Covid-19 MBJB Fund and stressed that there is no such fund.
3. Maran police chief denies that the Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO) will be imposed on the Felda Jengka 17 area and clarified that police were only implementing the Locality Security Control Order there with emphasis on comprehensive monitoring following the detection on one positive Covid-19 case in the locality.
4. AirAsia Group Berhad denies that it has set up another foundation apart from the AirAsia Foundation and stressed that the Tony Fernandes Foundation has no links whatsoever with AirAsia or AirAsia Group CEO Tan Sri Tony Fernandes
