KUALA LUMPUR (April 30): Amanahraya Real Estate Investment Trust announced the appointment of Abdul Aziz Abdul Rasheed as its new chief executive officer, effective today.

The position was left vacant for 15 months, following the resignation of Zalila Mohd Toon on Jan 31, 2019 — just three months after she was appointed to the position.

Abdul Aziz, 44, served as the head of engineering in AXIS REIT Managers Bhd for four years from May 2013 to February 2017.

His immediate role before joining Amanahraya REIT was as senior manager (investment projects) in AREA Management Sdn Bhd.

Abdul Aziz holds a Masters in Business Administration from Imperial College London. He also holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical and electronic engineering from University of Hertfordshire in the UK.
