KUALA LUMPUR (May 4): One of singer/actor Jay Chou’s restaurants in Taipei will close after operating more than 13 years, say reports. An announcement by the Mr J French-Italian restaurant on Facebook last Friday said its final day of operations will be on May 31 with the end of its lease.

According to a report by Sin Chew daily, the restaurant manager revealed that they would only reopen when a suitable location is found.

The restaurant opened in 2007 and was featured in the movie Secret, which starred Chou, Gwei Lun-mei and Anthony Wong, reported the Straits Times. The restaurant is famously filled with items linked to the movie, including a piano and desk.

Chou’s fans consider the restaurant a place they must visit if they are in Taipei as Chou is known to hold celebrations there when he bags awards.

The Straits Times also reported that another of Chou’s restaurants, Mr J Fujiwara Tofu Shop, also closed in 2015. That restaurant was made to look like the shop in Chou's movie Initial D.
