PENANG (May 15): If you are planning to hang around and do some work after eating in a restaurant here, forget it.
“We will not allow diners to work at the outlets as they are only allowed to order, eat and leave,” Penang Island City Council licensing department senior health officer Goh Eng Chun told The Star.
“The conditional movement control order’s (CMCO) standard operating procedures of social distancing of two metres for each customer, temperature checks and sanitisation would be strictly adhered to.
“As such, customers are not allowed to sit in and do their work. They must leave once they have finished their meals,” he explained to the daily.
Patrons are therefore reminded to not bring along their “gadgets” such as laptops, tablets and iPads in hopes of getting some work done, said Goh.
