KUALA LUMPUR (May 29): The police are not planning to investigate or question former federal territories minister Khalid Samad (pictured) over bribery allegations linked to his ex-political secretary Azli Yusuf, Malaysiakini reported today.

"The case has nothing to do with the related (former) minister.

"So there's no reason for the police to call him," Federal Commercial Crime Investigation Department (CCID) chief Mohd Zakaria Ahmad told the newsportal.

Azli was arrested on May 17 owing to a complaint from an architecture company that allegedly received a fake development order (DO) from a "broker."

"My former political secretary Hj Azli was remanded by the police yesterday over a complaint that an architectural company was given a fake 'DO' by a broker," Khalid said in a Twitter post on May 18.

"Rich broker, but the name that was sold was wronged," Khalid added in his post.

On May 27, Khalid told the media that according to Azli, his name was never mentioned in the investigation.

A news portal (not Malaysiakini) reported earlier this month that Bukit Aman cops “had launched an investigation into allegations of corruption involving a former minister from the previous Pakatan Harapan government.

The news portal stated that investigation involve “allegations of bribery involving several developers in the capital”.
