Dr Mahathir says the idea of Bersatu leaving Pakatan Harapan 'surprises' him
KUALA LUMPUR (June 2): Former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad (pictured) said in video clip on YouTube today that the idea of Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia leaving Pakatan Harapan (PH) surprises him because Bersatu had joined PH to topple ex-prime minster Datuk Seri Najib Razak's administration.
Dr Mahathir claimed he never said that “he will leave PH”.
“The idea of Bersatu leaving PH surprises me,” he said.
Dr Mahathir claimed today that he disagreed with the idea of Bersatu leaving PH because he is with PH, which had succeeded in toppling the Najib administration. This happened when PH won Malaysia’s 14th general election, which was held on May 9, 2018.
He said today he "thought it was strange" for Bersatu, which had helped PH topple the Najib administration, to work with Najib again.
