KUALA LUMPUR (June 24): The High Court today allowed the prosecution to amend the charge in the 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB) audit tampering case as the judge ruled that it would not prejudice former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak (pictured) and former 1MDB president Arul Kanda Kandasamy.

The decision was made by Justice Mohamed Zaini Mazlan after hearing submissions from all parties today.

Justice Zaini in his ruling said that the court did not think that both the accused would be prejudiced with the amendments as only seven witnesses had been called and not all witnesses were subject to cross-examination.

Following that, the amended charge was read again to Najib and Arul Kanda and both of them claimed trial again to the amended charges.
