KUALA LUMPUR (July 8): The Ministry of Health (MoH) reported three new Covid-19 cases today, all imported, bringing the country's total confirmed cases to 8,677.

They involve Malaysians who returned from Sudan, Mexico and Saudi Arabia, according to health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah during his Covid-19 media briefing today.

There were also five more recoveries, pushing the recovery total to 8,486 or 97.8% of overall cases.

This means active cases fell to 70 from 72 reported yesterday, as recoveries again outpaced new infections. This is the seventh consecutive day that active cases remained below 100.

And with no new fatalities reported, the death toll remained at 121 — unchanged for the 24th day in a row — representing 1.39% of total infections.
