PETALING JAYA (July 9): Hong Kong popstar Eason Chan has invited all to online concerts this Saturday to enjoy a musical performance at sunrise and sunset, Oriental Daily reported today.

Dubbed “Live Is So Much Better With Music”, the 45-year-old singer/composer will perform twice on July 11, once during sunrise (6am) and later at sunset (5pm). The concerts will be held at two different venues, set to be unveiled on the day of the concerts.

The concerts will be live-streamed on Hong Kong Live Performance and Production Industry Association’s Facebook and YouTube pages.

Chan's effort is aimed at supporting Hong Kong performing artists such as musicians, dancers and backstage crew members as their income has been affected owing to the cancellation of performing events..

His 25 scheduled concerts were originally planned for January this year but were cancelled due to the Covid-19 outbreak. The cancellations are expected to result in a loss of HK$18 million (around RM9.9 million).

However, Chan will be performing for free this time and hopes to spread positive energy through his two concerts..

“No matter how hard it gets, the sun will rise again. Hope all of us will help each other to weather the storm together with courage and confidence that things will get better,” he said.
