KUALA LUMPUR (July 17) Water supply to about 251 areas involved in the scheduled disruption exercise, due to upgrading works at the Sungai Selangor Phase 3 water treatment plant from July 14, has been fully restored as of 9pm yesterday (July 16).

In a press statement issued last night, Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Air Selangor) said water supply to 87% of the total areas involved in the exercise had been fully restored while work is still in progress in 39 other areas.

The statement added that water supply restored to Kuala Langat, Gombak and Kuala Lumpur had reached 100 per cent while for areas in Klang/Shah Alam and Petaling was at 75% and 99% respectively.

Efforts to stabilise the water distribution system is being actively implemented to speed up the process of restoring supply to the affected areas, it added.

“Hence, Air Selangor requests customers who have received the supply to use water prudently to ensure restoration process for affected areas will run smoothly,” it said.
