PETALING JAYA (July 30): Malaysian showbusiness practitioners have seen their income badly impacted owing to the Covid-19 pandemic. An example of this is actress and singer Adibah Noor who had to sell her house and pawn jewellery to make ends meet, reported the Malay Mail.

The report revealed that the 49-year-old artiste had zero income during the Movement Control Order (MCO) as many projects were cancelled since no public or entertainment events were allowed during MCO period.

In two short videos posted on Adibah’s Twitter, she admitted that she had to sell her belongings to make ends meet.

“I am not ashamed to tell you that I also have financial difficulties or hardships but we try to find our own way… I do not want to complain, this is not a venting session to get sympathy. I just want to share the reality that I too have my own problems,” said Adibah in the video.

She added that things have improved after the MCO with some performance job requests coming in, however, the payments were much lower than before.

She apologised for not being able to offer assistance to those who contacted her as she has to help herself to survive this crisis.
