KUALA LUMPUR (July 30): Senior Minister for Security Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said Putrajaya is considering shutting down schools again in light of the case of a primary school student positive for Covid-19 in Sabah, FMT reported today.

“I understand that the education ministry is looking at this in detail now. We will wait for their decision on whether they will allow (students in) Year One to Three to keep going to school, or only allow those sitting for major government examinations,” Ismail Sabri said when asked by the media about the situation.

“I’m sure the education ministry will announce their decision soon,” he added.

According to reports yesterday, Sabah health director Dr Christina Rundi revealed that the student tested positive for Covid-19 after visiting a government clinic on Monday.
