PETALING JAYA (August 3): An Australian woman was injured after being hit by the tail of a whale shark while snorkelling at Ningaloo Reef, Australia, on August 1, 2020, according to a BBC report.

The 29-year old snorkeler has participated in a swim with whale shark tour group activity at Ningaloo Reef, which is also one of the popular tourists’ activities.

She was treated in the Exmouth town before being admitted to a hospital in Perth. St John’s Ambulance said the snorkeler had suffered internal bleeding and upper torso injuries.

Police and work safety regulators were investigating the incident, said the report.
