PETALING JAYA (August 3): The Sultanah Aminah Hospital in Johor Bahru, which has been involved in several fire incidents, has been identified as one of the three government hospitals that does not have a Fire Certificate (FC), reported Malay Mail.

According to Johor Fire and Rescue Department director Datuk Yahya Madis, these three hospitals have submitted the FC application and the process is expected to complete by next year.

At the press conference today, he said  the hospitals are allowed to operate under the observation of the Fire and Rescue department.

“We must understand that the FC application is costly and a time-consuming process as there are many factors to consider such as fire prevention systems, Emergency Response Team (ERT) preparedness and good building maintenance,” he added.
