KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 17): Health director-general Datuk Dr. Noor Hisham Abdullah has been awarded the title Tan Sri at the 2020 Federal Award today.

Noor Hisham was one of 12 people who received the award in conjunction with Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah official birthday held at Istana Melawati today, according to Malay Mail report.

Other notable awardees today include Chief Justice Tan Sri Tengku Maimun Tuan Mat and Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) pro-chancellor Tan Sri Dr Arshad Ayub who received the Darjah Seri Setia Mahkota (SSM) honour that carried with it the title of “Tun”.

Social media is filled with well wishes for Noor Hisham, among those who offered their congratulations were former youth and sports minister Syed Saddiq Abdul Rahman, former Sabah tourism minister Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun and Lembah Pantai MP Fahmi Fadzil.

Noor Hisham was one of the 12 who received the Tan Sri today. Among them are: Court of Appeal president Rohana Yusuf; Public Services Department director-general Mohd Khairul Adib Abd Rahman; Army chief General Zamrose Mohd Zain; Air Force chief General Ackbal Abdul Samad; former deputy inspector-general of police Mazlan Mansor; Olympic Council of Malaysia president Mohamad Norza Zakaria; and Petronas chairman Ahmad Nizam Salleh.

Four businessmen were also awarded the PSM: Lotus Corporation Bhd chief executive R Doraisingam; Sunway Group president Chew Chee Kin; Platinum Victory Holdings managing director Gan Yu Chai; and Sena Group and Optimax founder Tan Boon Hock.
