GEORGE TOWN (Aug 24): The ferry service in Penang, Rapid Ferry, is disrupted from today until Aug 26 due to technical problems, according to Rapid Ferry chief Osman Amir.

Osman, in a statement here, today said the interrupted service was due to technical problems involving four ferries operating from Pangkalan Raja Tun Uda, here, to Pangkalan Sultan Abdul Halim, Butterworth, and back.

Subsequently, he said Rapid Ferry will be providing 10 free buses with a frequency of 10 to 20 minutes to cart passengers from Penang Sentral, Butterworth (from 6 am to 11 pm) to Weld Quay Terminal, George Town (from 7.10 am to 11 pm).

"On behalf of Rapid Ferry, I would like to apologise for any inconvenience. If you have any question, please contact Rapid Ferry on the Facebook page @rapid ferry," he said.
