KUALA LUMPUR (Sept 19): The Covid-19 quarantine bracelets come in either pink, white, blue, red or yellow, said the Ministry of Health’s director-general Tan Sri Noor Hisham Abdullah (pictured).

In a statement yesterday, he said the bracelets must be worn by those who:

i) Had close contact with Covid-19 patients;

ii) Returned from abroad; and

iii) Are in administrative Movement Control Order areas.

“The place and date of testing will be written on the bracelet. Individuals who are wearing these bracelets cannot leave their homes until the quarantine period is over, unless they are heads of households,” he said.

He added that the bracelets can only be cut by officers at the relevant district health office after the wearers have completed their quarantines.

He said the public must lodge police reports if they spot anyone wearing the bracelets out in public to protect the community from the spread of COVID-19.

“Individuals who disobey this order can endanger the community at large. Their compliance in staying at home is much appreciated by the Ministry of Health,” he said.

Yesterday, 95 new cases of Covid-19 were reported, bringing total cases to 10,147.

A 129th death was reported today. A 50-year-old Filipina succumbed to the disease in Sabah.

Active cases rose to 754. Meanwhile, recovered cases numbered 9,264 after 14 patients were discharged today.
