Violating RMCO: Police inspectors can now issue compound fines on the spot - Ismail Sabri
KUALA LUMPUR (Oct 7): Police officers with rank of inspector and above can issue compound fines to RMCO SOP violators on the spot, not necessary to bring offenders to police stations, Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said in a media briefing today, Bernama reported.
“To make things easier for the police in the field, the Attorney General’s Chambers has agreed to allow the police to issue compounds on the spot,” Ismail was reported saying. This new directive will be enforced today.
The current compound for breaking Covid-19 SOPs is RM1,000.
