KUALA LUMPUR (Oct 14): The Ministry of Health (MoH) announced 660 new COVID-19 cases today, bringing the number of active cases to a new high of 5,768.
Of the 660 new confirmed infections, 429 cases were in Sabah, while the 113 cases in Kedah with 109 infections were related to the Tembok cluster.
There are 68 new confirmed cases in Selangor, seven in Kuala Lumpur and one case in Putrajaya. Penang reported 17 new confirmed cases as of noon today, Johor (3), Perak (3), Sarawak (3), Melaka (2) and Negeri Sembilan (1).
The number of recoveries today came in at 233. Total recoveries in the country now stand at 11,605 or 66.2% of the total number of infections of 17,540.
There are 108 patients currently receiving intensive care, with 35 of them requiring respiratory assistance.
Four fatalities were reported as of noon today, which means the COVID-19 death toll in the country has gone up to 167 cases.
Besides, one more cluster was detected by the Ministry which has been named the Kencana cluster with 17 confirmed infections.
